Lara Si is a beautiful and effortlessly chic blogger, originally from Spain and now based in Dublin. Lara’s love of travelling has taken her all over the world, and her love of fashion to events such as New York Fashion Week 2013! We love Lara’s blog The 109 Block, and we are so lucky to have her writing articles for Clothes.ie!!!

We’ve been lucky enough to interview Lara, check out our convo below…
Lovely to meet you Lara, please tell us a little about yourself….

My name is Lara and I’m 25 years old. I am originally from Spain, but I moved to Dublin a few years ago after graduating from University. I have been blogging for over 1 year now mainly from Ireland, but you can also find some looks from Spain and the different places I travel to on blog; for example, I was recently in New York and we took amazing pictures at the New York Fashion Week!

My style it cannot be defined in one word, as it is definitely a mix of styles such as boho and girly mixed with classic touches. I absolutely love effortless chic and bohemian outfits that I like to mix with more formal pieces as blazers and heeled shoes for that chic look.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging since May 2012.

What got you started in the world of online blogging?

I have always been interested in fashion, and after visiting so many blogs and reading so many fashion magazines, I decided to start my own blog to show my passion for fashion. The fact that my boyfriend purchased a good reflex camera also helped as he is the one taking the outfit pictures.

Who is your favourite fashion designer?

I think there are many talented and inspiring designers out there now, but if I have to pick one I’d say Isabel Marant. She perfectly reflects an independent and stylish woman through effortless chic looks. The garments she designs are cool, elegant and unique in equal measure.

Bags or shoes?

Shoes!!

What do you think of plastic surgery?

Not my cup of tea, I prefer good make-up and a nice outfit.

What do you think of size 0 models?

I think it’s important to look natural and to be healthy.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?

I am in love with my black leather jacket from Zara as I can wear it for almost any occasion! I recently bought a white blazer that I really like too.

What could not leave the house without?

Perfume, lip balm and iPod.

What is your favourite beauty item?

I have few favourites… perfume, bronzer and mascara. But a sometimes a good lipstick is all you need; it can give a twist to any look!

What is your fashion pet peeve?

I love everything about fashion… but I don’t like if people think that the fact you love fashion means you are a bit superficial, absolutely not true!

Who’s style do you admire most?

Miroslava Duma, she always looks perfect and stylish but not over the top.

At school, how would you have described your dress sense?

I used to wear jeans and sweatshirts, and it was a mix of girly and geek. I was a big fan of all star converse and people thought they were ugly, I loved them anyway and had them in 3 different pairs!

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

Keep doing stuff that I really enjoy, including loads of travelling and blogging!

What do you love most about blogging?

It’s a way of expression. I think everyone needs to express themselves somehow. Some people write, some sing and some others blog. Besides, it is my own project, something that I have created and that I take good care of, it’s 100 % an expression of myself. Moreover, you are able to meet amazing people and if you are lucky you could also have the chance to go to great events.

What is your biggest blogging achievement so far?

I was recently invited to attend to Madrid Fashion Week, unfortunately, I was at New York at the time and couldn’t attend to the event, but I was flattered! I am still surprised every time that I am invited to a fashion event or when brands want to work with me, it’s really cool.

What do you think about ethical fashion?

I think customers don’t really know much about ethical fashion, however, I know some brands are making a big effort to promote a fairer and more ethical fashion, for example, H&M consciousness. I think is a big achievement that I totally support.

What would you say to any would be bloggers out there?

To enjoy what they do and to be unique.

And finally, what will you be writing about on Clothes.ie?

Fashion, shopping and trends.
